Founded in 1896 in Devon, Pa., the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair began as a one-day event featuring approximately thirty classes. Now, 130 years later, it stands as the oldest and largest outdoor multi-breed show in North America. Taking place May 20–31, 2026, this historic event draws equestrians from across the country, as well as local fans, for 12 days of world-class competition, exhibitions, and cherished traditions. Designated a US Equestrian Heritage Competition, the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair remains a can’t miss celebration of equestrian sport.

Just five years after its founding, the Devon Horse Show expanded its appeal with the addition of a Country Fair. Bryn Mawr Hospital was named the show’s official charity, raising $26,000 in its first year. By its 20th anniversary, the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair had earned a national reputation, with competitors traveling from as far as California. Today, Devon is internationally recognized as a premier equestrian event while remaining deeply rooted in the traditions of its first historic event.

The show features a wide variety of breeds and disciplines, offering spectators an exciting look at the breadth of equestrian sport. Classes feature American Saddlebreds, carriage pleasure driving, English pleasure, eventing, Friesians, Hackneys, hunters, hunter seat equitation, jumping, Roadsters, saddle seat equitation, Western, and more. With so many options and chances to see enthralling competition, fans can experience many different aspects of the sport in one place. The Country Fair also features themed days such as Family Days and Ladies Day, with activities designed for guests of all ages.
