Although a Maine native, Hallie Coon currently splits her time between the U.S. and England. What started as a summer abroad after being one of the 2018 recipients of the Karen Stives Endowment Fund Grant awarded by the USET Foundation has turned into a long-term residency. During Coon’s first year in England, she was named to her first FEI Nations Cup Team at Houghton Hall with her own and Helen Coon’s Celien, a 2007 KWPN mare in Norfolk, England and helped secure team silver. Later that same year, Coon and Celien represented the United States for a second time when the pair was named to the Millstreet Nations Cup team where the combination contributed to a top 5 team finish. Lucky Fortuna, a 2016 dark bay KWPN gelding, joined Coon’s string of upper-level horses in 2023. As the only athlete listed on Lucky Fortuna’s FEI record, Coon has brought the gelding from the CCI2* level through the CCI4*. As a combination, the pair placed in the top 5 at the 2023 Kronenberg CCI3*-L in the Netherlands and a top 10 placing at the 2025 Boekelo CCIO4*-NC-L as individuals.
Highlights:
- USEF Eventing Pathway Programs: 2018, 2020, 2025
- 2025 Boekelo CCIO4*NC-S, Top 10 individual
- 2023 Kronenberg CCI3*L (NED), Top 5 individual
