Lexington, Ky. – The Welsh Pony and Cob Society of America (WPCSA) is set to host the country’s top Welsh Ponies and Cobs in the highly anticipated American National Show from September 25-29, 2019, in Tulsa, Okla. This annual competition is the premier Welsh breed show in the United States. It is held in conjunction with the Tulsa State Fair, which garners nearly one million visitors to Expo Square during the week.

With over 400 classes, the American National offers a diverse and expansive program showcasing the breed’s versatility and athleticism. Divisions include halter, driving, hunter, English and Western pleasure, children’s, and more. These elite equine athletes aim to impress judges India Baker (Bethel, Maine), Mike Elmore (Santa Fe, N.M.), Karen MacLeay (Sylmar, Calif.), and Cynthia Doll (Oakland, Md.) for a chance at the prestigious title of champion.

Additionally, select performance divisions at the American National are rated as USEF Lite. Points earned in USEF Lite classes count towards the USEF Horse of the Year awards for the 2019 competition year.
