Lexington, Ky. – US Equestrian requests that members review Annex A, a supplement to the USEF Dressage Rules, which reflects updates effective as of the May publication. Annex A is available on the USEF website in the Dressage Rules & Equipment section under Forms and Publications.
Key updates to Annex A include:
- Certain bits, saddlery, and equipment previously not permitted are now allowed at USEF/USDF Dressage competitions; all changes or additions are highlighted in yellow.
- Addition of permitted and prohibited spurs.
- Equipment labeled “Pending Review” remains prohibited for USEF/USDF competitions until a final determination is published in Annex A.
- For FEI CDI events, exhibitors must refer to the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI) Dressage Rules or FEI Tack App for permitted saddlery and equipment.
The complete USEF Dressage Rules are available on the USEF website. The Dressage “Rules & Equipment” section serves as the official source for rule updates and supplemental documents, including Annex A and the Dressage Attire and Equipment booklet, which has also been updated for 2026. These resources are intended to assist exhibitors, USEF Dressage Technical Delegates, judges, and stewards officiating at Federation-licensed competitions.
