Hawtins San Floriana, affectionately known as “Flo,” is a 2012 Hanoverian mare (San Amour I x Florestan I) co-owned by Ashley Holzer and Diane Fellows. Despite her German bloodlines, Flo is a true British-bred mare, foaled and reared at Hawtins Stud in Gloucestershire, England. 

The mare’s early career unfolded entirely in the U.K. Started under British athlete Bryony Goodwin, Hawtins San Floriana made her debut in 2016 and went on to win the British young Horse Championships that same year.  

Hawtins San Floriana racked up top results and wins before moving to the U.S. under new ownership of Diane Fellows and Ashley Holzer in 2024.  With Holzer taking over the ride, the pair notched their first FEI Grand Prix win together in 2026, earning a score of 70.261% at the AGDF 5 CDI3*. 

Holzer and Hawtins San Floriana helped anchor The Dutta Corp. U.S. Dressage Team to a historic win at the 2026 FEI Dressage Nations Cup USA CDIO3* in Wellington, the program’s first win on home soil in five years. The duo added individual silver and Leading Lady Rider titles that weekend after the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle CDIO3*. Flo and Holzer went on to place fourth at the 2026 USEF Grand Prix Dressage National Championship in Ocala, Fla., and were named to the U.S. Dressage Team Short List for the 2026 FEI Dressage World Championships in Aachen, Germany.
