Gold Play, also known simply as “GP,” is a 2015 Oldenburg gelding (Grey Flannell x Sir Donnerhall II) co-owned by Jordan LaPlaca and Nancy Hutson, and cared for by Caitlin LaPlaca. Jordan found the gelding as a four-year-old at Hof Kasselmann in Hagen, Germany, and has produced him through the levels himself, pairing structured schooling with plenty of hacking, a routine LaPlaca has credited to keeping GP harmonious and even-minded under pressure. 

Gold Play’s international Grand Prix debut came in February 2026 at AGDF, where he and LaPlaca posted a then-person-best score of 68.913% for their first ever CDI win, following it up days later with a Grand Prix Special victory on a score of 70.425%. The pair made their The Dutta Corp. U.S. Dressage Team debut at the FEI Dressage Nations Cup USA CDIO3* in Wellington, helping the team to its first Nations Cup victory on home soil in five years. They added individual gold in the Grand Prix Special on a score of 71.000%. 
 
GP carried his form to Ocala, Fla., where he and LaPlaca won the FEI Grand Prix CDI4* at the World Equestrian Center April Dressage CDI on a score of 69.935%. The pair went on to finish in sixth overall at the 2026 USEF Grand Prix Dressage National Championship in May and were named to the U.S. Dressage Team Short List for the 2026 FEI Dressage World Championship in Aachen, Germany. Gold Play made his first trip back to Europe as, once again, part of The Dutta Corp. U.S. Dressage Team at the FEI Dressage Nations Cup Hagen CDIO4* in Hagen, Germany, where he and LaPlaca helped the team to a bronze medal and were the highest scoring U.S. combination in team competition.
