Fleau de Baian began his career under the guidance of Adelinde Cornelissen (NED) as a young horse and quickly progressed through the levels to Grand Prix. The pair competed successfully through the FEI Grand Prix until 2024, when Fleau de Baian, also known as Felix in the barn, was purchased by Zen Elite Equestrian Center as a Grand Prix mount for Christian Simonson.  

With Simonson, Fleau de Baian, a 2010 KWPN stallion (Broere Jazz x Ulft), made his stateside debut in the Grand Prix in May of 2025, with the pair starting their 2026 campaign off in January 2026. The pair have shown continued progress together as they have solidified their partnership, which has included five podium finishes in international competition. Most recently, the pair were selected to represent theThe Dutta Corp. U.S. Dressage Team at the FEI Dressage Nations Cup Hagen CDIO4* where they helped the team secure the bronze medal and finished individually on the podium in the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle CDIO4*.
