Diabolo is a 2012 Holsteiner gelding (Diarado x Roulett M) owned by the Diabolo Group. He joined Will Coleman’s program in 2023 after being sourced from Australia, where he was produced by Stuart and Gemma Tinney. Coleman first discovered Diabolo, also known as “Dabs” via video and decided to travel to Australia to try the horse in person before purchasing him to join his upper-level string.  

Since arriving in the U.S., Diabolo has developed into one of the country’s most consistent upper-level horses, with ten CCI4*-level starts yielding eight top ten finishes. The partnership quickly established themselves at the highest level, highlighted by victory in the Lexington CCI4*-S in 2024 at the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event, marking a breakout international win for the combination.  

The pinnacle of Diabolo’s career to date came in 2026, when he and Coleman captured the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event CCI5*-L in their debut at the level, adding only time penalties to their original dressage score to finish on an unbeatable 28.1. With the victory, Diabolo became the first horse to win both the Lexington CCI4*-S and the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event CCI5*-L in separate years, cementing his place among the sport’s elite contenders.
