Michel Assouline serves asthe U.S. Para-Equestrian Dressage Team Chef d'Equipe and Technical Advisor. Assouline is a graduate of the French National Equestrian School, home of the Cadre Noir in Saumur and gained a vast international experience in the U.S., France, Germany, and the United Kingdom as an international dressage rider and trainer.

Rebecca Hart

Rebecca Hart is a five-time Paralympian (Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio de Janerio 2016, and Tokyo 2020), four-time FEI World Equestrian Games™ team member (Herning 2022, Tryon 2018, Normandy 2014, and Lexington 2010) and seven-time USEF Para-Equestrian Dressage National Champion (2015, 2014, 2012, 2010, 2009, 2008, and 2006). Hart and Flora represented the U.S. Para Dressage Team at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, where they swept Grade III competition and brought home a historic medal haul of one team gold medal and two individual gold medals. Hart’s stellar performance throughout the week helped the team bring home gold with a total score of 235.567% and came home with a personal best score of 77.900% in the Individual Championship Test – Grade III and a new personal best of 83.534% in the Grade III FEI Grand Prix Freestyle.

 

Floratina

Floratina enjoyed a successful career in FEI dressage, including an appearance at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, with Canadian Lindsay Kellock, as well as with Canadian Chloe Gasiorowski, before switching hands to veteran U.S. Paralympian Rebecca Hart. Sweeping Grade III competition at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games with six-time Paralympian Rebecca Hart, the pair brought home a historic medal haul of three gold medals, marking Hart’s most successful Paralympics to date. The duo were instrumental in helping the U.S. Para Dressage Team earn their first-ever team gold in Paris and continued to post personal bests throughout the week of competition, closing out their week at Versailles with a personal best score of 83.534% in Grade III FEI Grand Prix Freestyle and a personal best score of 77.900% in the Individual Championship Test – Grade III.

Fiona Howard

Fiona Howard started riding as a young child in England - participating in an array of equestrian sports, including eventing, jumping, polocrosse, and polo at her local Pony Club. Fiona originally started her international equestrian career in reining, including appearances at the 2016 FEI European Reining Championships for Juniors and Young Riders. Howard was diagnosed with a rare muscle disorder called dystonia and moved to the United States (Boston, Mass.) for ongoing treatment. She was told she may never be able to ride again. After enrolling in Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. to be close to her medical team, Howard decided to try riding again, even as her condition limited physical control below her torso. Soon after, she began competing in para equestrian dressage, officially marking her first international start in 2022.Howard debuted with several new mounts in 2024. With Diamond Dunes, Howard impressed in both the U.S. and Europe, earning victories across the board in Grade II competition, earning them a spot on their first Paralympic Team for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.   The duo had an incredibly successful Games, where they helped the U.S. Para Dressage Team earn their first ever Paralympic gold medal in team competition. Their impressive scores helped the team to a final combined score of 235.567; a historical win and the highest Paralympic team score ever recorded in the para-equestrian discipline. The pair also topped the podium in Grade II competition in both the FEI Grand Prix Para Test A Grade II and the FEI Grand Prix Para Freestyle Grade II, earning personal best marks in each of their performances.

 

Diamond Dunes

Nickname: Dunes Owner: Dressage Family LLC & Hof Kasselmann Groom: Helen Claire McNulty Gender: Gelding Breed: Hanoverian Disciplines: Para-Equestrian Sire: De L'or Dam: Wibella Foal Date: 4/4/2013

Dunes and Howard showed the strength of their partnership at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. They earned two individual gold medals in the Grand II FEI Grand Prix Freestyle and Individual Tests. Their impressive scores helped the team to a final combined score of 235.567; a historical win and the highest Paralympic team score ever recorded in the para-equestrian discipline.  Ahead of the 2026 FEI Para Dressage World Championships in Aachen, “Dune” reunited with Howard after her battle with health challenges and surgeries, to compete together at the Hagen CPEDI3*. As members of the U.S. Para Dressage Team, the duo helped secure team gold, contributing to a final team score of 458.894. They also notched a personal best score together in the FEI Para Grand Prix Test B II, earning an 80.833% and finishing atop the class.

Kate Shoemaker

Hometown: Wellington, Fla. Birthday: 8/25/1987 Sport/Disciplines: Para-Equestrian Paralympic Years: 2020, 2024

Kate Shoemaker earned her first world championship medal as a member of the U.S. Para-Equestrian Dressage Team for the FEI World Equestrian Games™ (WEG) Tryon 2018, earning bronze in the FEI Grade IV Freestyle. Her additional accomplishments include being named as the FEI WEG Normandy 2014 alternate; the 2015 USEF CPEDI1* Para-Equestrian Dressage National Champion; and the Adequan®/FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships presented by Gotham North team, individual, and freestyle gold medalist. Shoemaker also made her Paralympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games as a member for the bronze medal-winning U.S. team. Shoemaker also secured team bronze and won individual silver at the 2022 FEI Para Dressage World Championships hosted in Herning, Denmark.

 

Vianne

Nickname: Vianne Owner: Norcordia USA Groom: Katherine Barrett Gender: Mare Breed: American Hanoverian Disciplines: Para-Equestrian Sire: Vitalis Dam: Raureif Foal Date: 6/6/2016

Vianne started her career with able-body athlete Hope Beerling, making her debut at the FEI World Breeding Championships for Young Horses in Ermelo, NED in 2023 as a seven-year-old. She was scouted as a potential mount for Paralympian Kate Shoemaker. The pair debuted in their first CPEDI together in Doha in February 2024, earning victories with tremendous scores around the 70% mark. The pair have continued their dominance in Grade IV competition in Europe throughout 2024.  In the lead-up to the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, the pair never placed outside of the top three internationally in Grade IV competition. Shoemaker and Vianne were selected as part of the U.S. Para Dressage Team for Paris,  where they finished fifth individually after the FEI Para Grand Prix Test A, then rebounded to take home an individual bronze medal in the FEI Para Grand Prix Freestyle for Grade IV. The Paris Paralympic Games marked Shoemaker’s second Paralympic appearance and first Paralympic individual medal.

Roxanne Trunnell

Roxanne "Roxie" Trunnell is a Paralympic individual gold medalist for Grade I and as part of the bronze medal-winning U.S. Para Dressage Team from Tokyo 2020. She is a three-time Paralympian (Paris 2024, Tokyo 2020, and Rio de Janeiro 2016) and three-time FEI World Equestrian Games™ U.S. Para-Equestrian Dressage Team member (Herning 2022, Tryon 2018 and Normandy 2014). At the WEG Tryon 2018 she and Dolton won the bronze medal in the FEI Grade I Freestyle.

 

Fan Tastico H

Nickname: Fanta Owner: Karin Flint Groom: Rafael Hernandez-Carillo Gender: Gelding Breed: Oldenburg Disciplines: Para-Equestrian Sire: Fuerstenball OLD Dam: Weltmeyer Foal Date: 5/5/2017

Fan Tastico H made his partnership debut with Marie Vonderheyden at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival 9 CPEDI3* in 2025, where they supported the team’s second win of the year with strong scores across Grade I competition, alongside top performances in several other major CPEDI3* team results in the U.S. The pair have continued to maximize results as they have solidified their partnership over the last two years. In 2026, the pair came out firing in the first CPEDI3* of the year at AGDF in early January and have continued to impress with scores averaging well above 72% in each of their Grade I tests, alongside strong performances in the Myakka City CPEDI3* and Tryon CPEDI3*.
