As a Federation member, you may put forward a candidate for the Independent Director seats on the Board of Directors. There are two Independent Director Seats open to be filled at Annual Meeting. One Independent Director Seat is for a four-year term and the other is for a two-year term. You may put forward any Senior Active Member of the Federation who meets the definition of independent under Federation Bylaw 303, Section 3. The Nominating Committee will select two Independent Director candidates for recommendation to the Board of Directors. The election for the Independent Director seats will take place at the Federation Annual Meeting on January 14, 2017.
After you put forward an Independent Director candidate, s/he will be notified of the nomination and will be required to submit an Expression of Interest packet to the Nominating Committee. This packet will provide the Committee with the necessary information to make its selection of the appropriate Independent Director candidates.
Nominees may be invited to interview with the Nominating Committee. This will be an opportunity for the Nominating Committee to gather additional information.
The Nominating Committee will recommend its nominees to the Board no later than December 15, 2016.
- September 15: Nomination Period Opens
- October 31: Nomination Period Closes
- November: Interviews of nominees may occur
- December 15: Nominating Committee deadline to submit to the Board its nominations for Independent Director seats
- January 14: Board Meeting and Independent Director election
