(Lexington, KY) - The Board of Directors of the United States Equestrian Federation has approved the use of the new non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) EQUIOXX® (firocoxib). This new NSAID is the first highly COX-1 sparing drug to be FDA approved for use in horses. The rule allowing the use of firocoxib will take effect on 8/1/07. American Saddlebred trainer and breeder Charles E. “Chuck” Hamlet, age 67, died Friday, June 8, 2007. Friends were received Wednesday, June 13, at the Davis Funeral Home in Harriman, TN. Hamlet’s career as a trainer began nearly 50 years ago, in the early 60's.
