Paul E. Chovanec Former American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) member Paul E. Chovanec passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2011, at the age of 63. Paul grew up on a small farm in Wisconsin, son to parents who had survived the great depression and a father who worked in the navy shipyard. Things are getting busy now. We went to the village at 730 this morning to try to buy some tickets and drop some stuff off for the eventers. The latter was successful but the ticket office doesn't open until 11 according to the lady in the Starbucks. Speaking of Starbucks, being that it is Saturday, the one at the hotel doesn't open until 8.00 so we actually had two successful missions at the village. Things are in full swing at Fair Hill. More than 100 horses were presented to the ground juries for the two and three star today. Many were on their toes as the autumn breeze kicked up. Riders also took the opportunity to don their fall fashions; as colorful scarves and boots were the theme for the ladies and the guys took the chance to dust off their corduroys and blazers.
