On Saturday, the best horses and riders from the hunter divisions competed for the top prize in the $15,000 WIHS Hunter Classic Derby at the Washington International Horse Show. Callaway's Blue Norther's breeding career is among the Saddlebred world's most prolific, having sired Five-Gaited World's Grand Champion CH Callaway's Forecaster, Ladies Five-Gaited World's Champion CH Callaway's Born To Win, and Amateur Five-Gaited Mare World's Champion Callaway's Winning Ways, among many others. The American Saddlebred Horse Association 2005 annual convention had 579 attendees. The total includes both adults and youth who attended the various events that took place February 17-19, including the American Saddlebred Ball, youth field trip, forums, luncheons and more.
