Lexington, Ky. — US Equestrian is pleased to announce applications for the USEF Combined Driving Developing Athlete Program and Developing Equine Program are now open. Applications are accepted twice annually, opening in May and November each year, and can be submitted through the Athlete Dashboard in your MyUSEF account.
Developing Athlete Program
The mission of the USEF Developing Athlete Program is to provide guidance and educational resources to cultivate selected athlete/equine combinations who display the potential to improve the national standard of the sport and eventually contribute to a U.S. Team score at Driving World Championships. Athlete/equine combinations are admitted to the program for a maximum of four years.
To be eligible, athletes must be U.S. citizens with an active USEF Competing membership in good standing. Additional criteria for inclusion can be found on the USEF website.
Applications must include a video of the athlete's current division level dressage test and a video of either a cones or marathon course. Selection consideration includes competition results and trajectory, commitment to the sport, training opportunities pursued, consistency of performance, and conduct of the athlete and their team.
How to Apply
Eligible athletes may apply for either program through their Athlete Dashboard. Applications for both programs are currently open. For more info about eligibility requirements and program benefits, please click here.
