Jennifer “Nifty” Hamilton (Alva, Fla.) and Makari Design, the 11-year-old KWPN gelding she owns with Milton Hamilton, hope to claim their third consecutive USEF Advanced Single Horse Combined Driving National Championship title. However, they will face a strong field of competitors. Donna Crookston (Saltsburg, Pa.) and Viktor, her 11-year-old Dutch Harness gelding, have secured several top-three finishes in 2019 and are in top form heading into the Katydid CDE. Jennifer Thompson (Lodi, Wis.) and Funnominial CG, her nine-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, won the 2018 USEF Intermediate Single Horse Combined Driving National Championship and have made the jump to the Advanced division, having several impressive results in 2019.

Competition begins with the driven dressage phase beginning on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. ET followed by the marathon on Saturday and finishing with the cones phase on Sunday.
