Lexington, Ky. – US Equestrian reminds eligible combined driving community that applications for three programs are due Sunday, June 1, 2026. The Developing Program Applications, FEI World Championships Applications of Intent for Four-in-Hand Horses and Single Horses, and Emerging Clinic Grant Applications are all due by 11:59 p.m. ET on June 1.
Developing Program Applications
Athletes committed to long-term goals in combined driving at the Preliminary level and above are encouraged to apply to the USEF Combined Driving Developing Program. The program's mission is to provide guidance and educational resources to cultivate athlete/equine combinations who display the potential to improve the national standard of the sport and eventually contribute to a U.S. Team score at FEI Driving and Para Driving World Championships. Applications are available through the USEF Athlete Dashboard.
World Championship Applications of Intent
Athletes seeking selection consideration for the 2026 FEI Driving World Championship for Four-in-Hand Horses (Aachen, Germany, from August 19–23) and the 2026 FEI Driving World Championship for Single Horses (München-Riem, Germany, from August, September 1-6) must submit an Application of Intent by June 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Selection procedures outlining FEI and USEF requirements for horses and athletes, as well as the process used by USEF Driving Selectors when naming team and/or individual athletes, are available here. Applications must be submitted through the Athlete Dashboard.
Emerging Clinic Grant Applications
Instructors, trainers, clubs, and facilities interested in hosting combined driving clinics between June 1 and November 30, 2026, must submit their Emerging Clinic Grant Applications by June 1, 2026. The USEF Combined Driving Emerging Program provides guidelines and grant support for introductory educational clinics where approved curriculum is used to teach the basics of driving for singles as well as multiples.
