Lähden, Germany – The 2025 FEI Para Driving World Championship will take place this week and three athlete-and-horse combinations are set to represent the U.S. Para Driving Team after all passed the first horse inspection on Wednesday morning:
- Tracy Bowman (Martinez, Calif.) with her own Albrecht’s Hoeve’s Lars (Orchard Red Prince x Castenrayseweg Saartje), a 2009 Welsh Pony Gelding
- Diane Kastama (Arroyo Grande, Calif.) with Freedom, a 2010 gelding owned by Koos De Ronde
- Deborah Marcuccilli (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.), with Tjibbe, a 2004 gelding owned by Koos De Ronde
The team will be supported by Chef d’Equipe Marcie Quist, Team Veterinarian Laura Werner, and Team Leader Steven Morrissey. The U.S. has historically had success at this event, winning team silver at the last championship in 2023. Bowman and Albrecht’s Hoeve’s Lars are the defending gold medalists individually for Grade I, having won in both 2021 and 2023, and will look to make history with a third win this year.
The Para Driving World Championship is being held in conjunction with the FEI Driving European Championship at PSG Lähden. Competition in the Para Driving World Championship begins with the dressage phase on Thursday, Sept. 4. The marathon phase runs on Saturday, Sept. 6, and competition concludes with the cones phase and presentation of awards on Sunday, Sept. 7.
