The Dutta Corp. U.S. Dressage Team Set for FEI Dressage Nations Cup™ Germany at the World Equestrian Festival CHIO Aachen

Individual U.S. Competitors Prepare for CDI4*, CDIO-U25

Lexington, Ky. – This week, The Dutta Corp. U.S. Dressage Team aims to earn top marks at the FEI Dressage Nations Cup™ Germany. Chef d’Equipe Robert Dover will lead the team of Laura Graves and Verdades, Adrienne Lyle and Salvino, Kasey Perry-Glass and Goerklintgaards Dublet, and Steffen Peters and Rosamunde at the World Equestrian Festival CHIO Aachen, July 19-22. Individual U.S. CDI4* big tour competitors Shelly Francis and Danilo, Ashley Holzer and Havanna 145, Olivia LaGoy-Weltz and Lonoir, and Steffen Peters and Suppenkasper, join the team combinations in Aachen.

The Nations Cup CDIO5* and CDI4* serve as designated observation events for determining the 2018 The Dutta Corp. U.S. Dressage Team for the FEI World Equestrian Games™ (WEG) Tryon 2018, which will take place Sept. 11-23 in Mill Spring, N.C.

The U.S. contingent at CHIO Aachen will also include CDIO-U25 individual competitor Natalie Pai and Unlimited. Peters will also ride Donovan, Four Wind Farm’s 10-year-old KWPN gelding, in the CDI4* Small Tour.

Meet the WEG Short-Listed CDI4* Big Tour Competitors

Shelly Francis (Loxahatchee, Fla.) and Danilo, Patricia Stempel’s 14-year-old Hanoverian gelding, earned numerous top-three finishes at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) to begin 2018. They then headed to the 2018 FEI World Cup Dressage Final in Paris, France, placing 12th in the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle. Francis and Danilo are back in Aachen, following wins in the FEI Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special at CDI3* Aachen in May.

Ashley Holzer (New York, N.Y.) and Havanna 145, Diane Fellows's 11-year-old Hanoverian mare, finished in the top-eight several times at the AGDF earlier this year. Most recently, they placed second in the FEI Grand Prix and top-5 in the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle at CDI4* Leudelange.

Olivia LaGoy-Weltz (Haymarket, Va.) and Lonoir, the 14-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding she owns with Mary Anne McPhail, started off the 2018 competition year with six first-place results at the AGDF. Earlier this month, the pair helped The Dutta Corp. U.S. Dressage Team earn a bronze medal at the FEI Dressage Nations Cup The Netherlands .

Peters and Suppenkasper, Four Winds Farm's 10-year-old KWPN gelding, are a new combination, but they have won at almost every turn in 2018. The pair racked up four wins at the Adequan West Coast Dressage Festival. At the end of April, Peters and Suppenkasper won the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle CDI-W and placed third in the FEI Grand Prix CDI-W at the Del Mar National Horse Show. The combination most recently won the FEI Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special at CDI4* Leudelange.

Meet the CDIO-U25 Competitor

Natalie Pai (Wellington, Fla.) and Unlimited, Melanie Pai's 17-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, also had impressive showings at the AGDF. They won the FEI Intermediate II 16-25 CDI-U25 and the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle 16-25 CDI-U25 during week 10, followed by the team silver medal in the CDIO-U25 two weeks later. Most recently, the combination earned two top-10 finishes at the CDI-U25 Leudelange.
