Mill Spring, N.C. – Vaulting athletes from across the country gathered at the Tryon International Equestrian Center to contest the 2026 USEF/EVUSA Vaulting National Championships, hosted August 7-9, 2026, vying for national championship titles across numerous divisions.
3* Division
The 3* Individual Female division saw Allegra Hart (Mebane, N.C.) of Triangle Equestrian Vaulting rise to the top of the leaderboard after strong performances aboard Justice Of and Killian throughout the championship. Hart opened her championship campaign with a score of 7.005 in the Compulsory Test aboard Justice Of, a 2014 KWPN gelding (UB-40 X Arunee), owned by Andrea Selch. She earned a 6.545 in the Technical Test aboard Killian, a 2008 Thoroughbred Cross gelding (Unknown x Unknown), owned by Andrea Selch, before capping the weekend with a successful Freestyle aboard Justice Of to secure her overall win with a final combined score of 6.445.
The 3* Pas de Deux competition was championed by Colette Nicholas (Stewartstown, Penn.) and Mya Hemmerich (Lewisbury, Penn.) who claimed top honors in the division with an overall score of 5.421. Competing aboard Prince Ali, a 2010 Spotted Draft Horse gelding (Unknown x Unknown) owned by Trisha Bowman, the duo earned a 5.347 in the Freestyle I and a 5.494 in the Freestyle II. Danica Rinard (Fort Lupton, Colo.) and Morgan Haun (Nunn, Colo.) finished just behind the leaders with an overall score of 5.185 after vaulting aboard Formulator, a 2010 KWPN gelding (Bruiser x Naronita) owned by Jodi Rinard.
2* Division
The 2* division brought a strong field of individual athletes, Pas de Deux pairs, and Squads to the championship arena, with vaulters continuing to raise the bar throughout the weekend.
Sierra Tobin (Weddington, N.C.) of Summit Equestrian claimed the 2* Silver Individual championship with an overall score of 7.090. Competing aboard her own Fritz 694, a 2013 Hanoverian gelding (Franziskus x World Fun), and Romeo, a 2009 Westphalian gelding (Rubitano x Pepita) owned by Summit Equestrian LLC, Tobin built momentum throughout the competition, earning a 6.936 in her Compulsory Test before scoring a 7.206 in Freestyle I and 7.206 in Freestyle II. Matilda Rinard (Fort Lupton, Colo.) finished just behind her with an overall score of 7.050.
James Fiedler (Vaughn, Mont.) topped the 2* Individual Male division, earning a total combined score of 6.103 with Texas Rose, a 2009 Percheron gelding (Easy Eye Major x Ryans Dolly Laet) owned by Gina Fiedler.
Formulator returned to the ring as the mount for the winning 2* B Squad, Frankie’s Team. The squad, consisting of Danica Rinard (Fort Lupton, Colo.), Morgan Haun (Nunn, Colo.), Jacey Muir (Payson, Utah), Matilda Rinard (Fort Lupton, Colo.), Virginia Rinard (Fort Lupton, Colo.), and James Fiedler (Vaughn, Mont.), finished the weekend with a total score of 5.469.
In the 2* Young Vaulter/Gold Individual, Danica Rinard (Fort Lupton, Colo.) finished atop the individual female leaderboard after vaulting aboard Semper Paratus SCH, a 2019 Hanoverian gelding (Sinatra Song x Rayna May) owned by Nicolette Masitti, and securing a total score of 6.849. Ada Nobles (Paris, Ky.), finished second for reserve national championship honors with a score of 6.772 for her performances aboard Paisan, a 2015 Shire/Quarter Horse Cross gelding (Unknown x Unknown) owned by Jeannine Nobles.
Larry Markegard (Half Moon Bay, Calif.) of Woodside Vaulters delivered standout performances in the Young Vaulter/Gold Individual Male division, finishing with an overall score of 6.762. Markegard vaulted aboard Justice Of, a 2014 KWPN gelding (UB-40 X Arunee), owned by Andrea Selch.
The 2* Pas de Deux national championship title went to Zoe Cavalcanti (Chapel Hill, N.C.) and Charlotte Lloyd (Chapel Hill, N.C.) of Triangle Equestrian Vaulting, who earned a final combined score of 6.948 after vaulting aboard Sheamus O’Kelley, a 2010 Belgian Draft gelding (Unknown x Unknown) owned by Andrea Selch. The duo completed a clean sweep of the Freestyle events, securing the top score in both rounds. Matilda Rinard (Fort Lupton, Colo.) and James Fiedler (Vaughn, Mont.) finished second with a combined score of 5.786 for reserve national champion honors in the division.
1* Division
The 1* division showcased the next generation of vaulting talent, with athletes competing across the 1* C Squad, 1* Bronze Individual, 1* Trot Pas de Deux, 1* Canter Pas de Deux, 1* Canter 2-Phase Squad, 1* Trot 2-Phase Squad, 1* Trot Individual, and 1* Copper Individual divisions as part of the national championship.
Muddy Creek Vaulters captured the 1* C Squad title. The squad, consisting of Mallie Touchton (Christiana, Pa.), Lorelai Bomhardt (Forest Hill, Md.), Emma Muller-Thym (Bel Air, Md.), Annabelle Krepp (Freeland, Md.), Mya Hemmerich (Lewisburg, Penn.), and Colette Nicholas (Stewartstown, Penn.), earned an average overall score of 4.353 to finish atop the division, vaulting aboard Prince Ali.
Charlotte Kacir (Georgetown, Texas) claimed the 1* Bronze Individual national championship, earning a 6.744 for her performances aboard Only In Fairytales, a 2013 Appendix Quarter Horse gelding (Coats N Tails X Chocolate Chip Baba) owned by Nicolette Masitti. Abigail Beauclair (Oberlin, La.) followed closely with a 6.605 overall score after three tests to take reserve national championship honors. Mary Charlotte Javorsek (Harriman, Tenn.) and Amelia Javorsek (Harriman, Tenn.) of The Soaring Vaulters dominated the 1* Canter Pas de Deux division with Sun Set Acres Express, a 2019 Belgian Draft Horse gelding (Rose Acres Lincoln x Sun Set Acres Merda) owned by Daniel Javorsek, earning top marks in all three events to secure the victory with an overall score of 6.033. Quinn Schlesinger (Centennial, Colo.) and Virginia Rinard (Fort Lupton, Colo.) claimed second on a 5.625 total score, vaulting aboard Zoe, a 2006 American Warmblood mare (Unknown x Shelby) owned by Jodi Rinard, and representing Mile High Vaulters.
