Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team Competes on Home Soil for FEI Eventing Nations Cup™ USA Title

The Plains, Va. – The Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team will contest their second Nations Cup of 2018, the FEI Eventing Nations Cup™ USA at the Brook Ledge Great Meadow International presented by Adequan®. Chef d’Equipe Erik Duvander will lead Buck Davidson, Phillip Dutton, Sydney Elliott, and Caroline Martin in the competition from July 6-8. The team is a mix of veterans and rising stars with hopes of gaining valuable experience under Duvander’s guidance and with home crowd support.

Last Time Out

The Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team has won two consecutive team gold medals in the FEI Eventing Nations Cup USA at Great Meadow International in 2016 and 2017.

Davidson and Park Trader completed their fourth Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event CCI4* in April.

Dutton and Sportsfield Candy finished second in the Jersey Fresh International CIC3* in early May.

Elliott and Cisko A finished third in the Chattahoochee Hills CIC3* in April.

Martin and Spring Easy completed their second Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event CCI4* in April.

Davidson: Two-time Alltech WEG competitor (2014, 2010); Guadalajara 2011 team gold and individual bronze medalist; three-time Land Rover/USEF CCI4* Eventing National Champion (2013, 2009, 2003)

Dutton: Six-time Olympian (2016, 2012, 2008, 2004, 2000, 1996): Rio de Janeiro 2016 individual bronze medalist, Sydney 2000 team gold medalist (for Australia), and Atlanta 1996 team gold medalist (for Australia); six-time WEG competitor (2014, 2010, 2006, 2002, 1998, 1994); two-time Pan American Games competitor: Toronto 2015 team gold medalist and Rio de Janeiro 2007 team gold and individual silver medalist; and five-time Land Rover/USEF CCI4* Eventing National Champion (2017, 2015, 2010, 2008, 2007)

Martin: US Equestrian Emerging Athlete Eventing 25 Program participant, Land Rover/USEF Eventing Competition Grant recipient, three-time USET Foundation Karen Stives Endowment Fund Grant recipient, member of the silver medal-winning Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team in the 2018 FEI Eventing Nations Cup Great Britain, member of the bronze medal-winning Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team in the 2017 FEI Eventing Nations Cup Great Britain, won the 2017 Carolina International Horse Trials CIC3*, 2013 North American Junior & Young Rider Championships (now the Adequan FEI North American Youth Championships presented by Gotham North) CCI2* individual gold and Area III team gold medalist

Competition begins Saturday with dressage at 7:30 a.m. ET.

Additionally, a combined test for the Land Rover U.S. Eventing Squad for the FEI World Equestrian Games™ (WEG) Tryon 2018 and reserve list combinations in attendance will take place Friday, July 6 and Saturday, July 7. The athletes will use the combined test as a preparation event for the WEG.
