Deadline Approaching for US Equestrian’s Higher Education Equestrian Scholarship

Lexington, Ky. – Graduating high school seniors with plans to continue their equestrian journey in college have just weeks left to apply for the Higher Education Equestrian Scholarship. US Equestrian will award two $2,500 scholarships to students preparing to enter a college or university this fall, with all applications due to the USEF office no later than July 31, 2026

The scholarship supports students interested in furthering their equestrian knowledge and skills throughout their college years. Recipients must remain involved in equestrian-related experiences while in school, whether through an equestrian-related degree or coursework, participation on an intercollegiate equestrian team or club, an equestrian-related internship or job, volunteer work, or another demonstrated commitment to continued involvement in the sport. Scholarship funds are awarded directly to the recipient's educational institution. 

To be eligible, applicants must be active competing or subscribing USEF members preparing to enter a college or university in the fall of the current competition year. A complete application includes: 

  • A completed application form 

  • A personal essay 

  • At least one reference from an individual within the horse industry 

Applications for the 2026 Higher Education Equestrian Scholarship are open. Interested students can find the application here. All materials must be submitted to the USEF office on or before the July 31 deadline to be considered.
