Carly Weilminster to Join US Equestrian as Director of Communications & Public Relations

Lexington, Ky. – US Equestrian is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Carly Weilminster (Ellicott City, MD) to fill the role of Director of Communications & Public Relations, bringing a comprehensive understanding of communications, marketing, and public relations to US Equestrian and a proven track record in the equestrian sport arena. She will be based in the Lexington office.


“Carly is a strong addition to the US Equestrian Marketing, Communications and Content Team. Her experience managing press offices for multiple, complex events across a variety of disciplines at both the national and international levels have set her up for success in her new role,” said Vicki Lowell, Chief Marketing & Content Officer for US Equestrian. “Not only is she talented and experienced across all media platforms, she is a team player first and foremost with tremendous passion for sport and is highly respected within the industry.

Carly has worked within equestrian sport for the past five years, most recently overseeing the management and development of communication and marketing initiatives for events hosted at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center, Winter Equestrian Festival, Adequan® Global Dressage Festival, Tryon International Equestrian Center, International Polo Club Palm Beach, Colorado Horse Park, and the Central Park Horse Show. She served as the National Press Officer for the FEI World Equestrian Games™ Tryon 2018 and supervised marketing and digital media, media relations, and media operation efforts for the event on behalf of the Organizing Committee. She also traveled with US Equestrian to Lima, Peru, as acting Press Officer for the Lima 2019 Pan American Games.

I have been a passionate equestrian my entire life and am thoroughly motivated to generate positive and engaging visibility for our athletes, members, and federation,” said Weilminster.

The responsibilities in her new position with US Equestrian will include the strategic development and implementation of multi-discipline, member-driven content and communication campaigns, as well as the oversight and management of the many day-to-day tasks of US Equestrian’s Communications & Public Relations Department. She will work closely with our Marketing, Sponsorship, and Sport Departments, as well as with our many affiliates, to ensure communication efforts and key messaging are effective and deliver on our vision to bring the joy of horse sports to as many people as possible.

Carly currently competes in the amateur jumper divisions and has been an avid equestrian for more than 20 years. She played Lacrosse at Boston College, where she graduated with a degree in Communications.
