by US Equestrian Communications Dept. | 3/27/2026

Wellington, Fla. – The final qualifier ahead of the $1,000,000 Rolex US Equestrian Open Grand Prix CSI5*, a Rolex Series event, is set to begin at Wellington International to determine the final combinations who will contest the season’s culminating class tomorrow evening under the lights. With 30 combinations securing their starting place following yesterday’s $116,000 Adequan WEF Challenge Cup CSI5*, the remaining ten starting positions will be determined by results in the $62,500 Bainbridge Companies 1.50m CSI5*, beginning at 12:20 p.m. ET.

The class will feature numerous Olympians and world-class combinations, including last year’s reigning champions and 2024 Paris 2024 Olympic individual gold medalists, Christian Kukuk (GER) and Checker 47, alongside major contenders like last year’s second place finishers, Laura Kraut (USA) and Bisquetta, top U.S. combination Karl Cook (USA) with Caracole de la Roque, as well as rising international star, Nina Mallevaey (FRA) and Dynastie de Beaufour. With a mixture of seasoned and up-and-coming talent, the class will define one of the pinnacle moments on the international jumping calendar.

In today’s final qualifying opportunity, combinations not previously qualified via yesterday’s class, who finish inside the top ten of the 1.50m Classic, will be booked into the finale, while any remaining starting positions will be allocated back to the next highest finishers from the WEF Challenge Cup.

Shane Sweetnam (IRE) and Coriaan van Klapscheut Z took the win in yesterday’s feature class, booking their ticket to the final tomorrow evening. The pair bested a class of 60 entries, with Richard Vogel (GER) and Claudio taking second overall, and Daniel Bluman (ISR) and Hummer Z rounding out the top three in the competitive class.
