Fair Hill, Md. -  Fair Hill International celebrates 31 years of eventing this weekend with the start of The Dutta Corp. Fair Hill International Three-Day Event (FHI). Held at the picturesque Fair Hill Natural Resources Management Area in Fair Hill, Md., the historic fall event draws top riders from across the country to contest The Dutta Corp./USEF CCI3*-L and CCI4*-L Eventing National Championships. In addition, the USEF Young Rider Eventing National Championship and USEF Young Horse Eventing National Championship are up for grabs.

Though chilly temperatures and pouring rain soaked the competitors during the first horse inspection on Wednesday afternoon, all of the horses who were presented to the Ground Jury were approved. Sixty-two CCI3*-L horses and 47 CCI4*-L horses will move on to the dressage phase.

Fair Hill International is privileged to once again host the USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) East Coast Championships, presented by Dubarry of Ireland. The championships showcase up-and-coming four- and five-year-old horses who are evaluated for their talent in the sport and their ability to be successful at the upper levels of eventing. The YEH classes run over two days, starting at 7:44 a.m., with the dressage and conformation phases taking place on Thursday, while the jumping and awards wrap up on Friday. The dressage for the FEI divisions takes place over two days, beginning at 9:12 a.m. on Thursday and 8 a.m. on Friday. Saturday's thrilling cross-country kicks off at 9:00 a.m. with the CCI3*-L class, while the CCI4*-L division is slated to follow tentatively at 1 p.m. Sunday's final horse inspection will take place at 8 a.m., with the show jumping set to start at 10 a.m. Live scoring from the competition can be found here.

In October 2020, the event continues its rapid elevation in status as the Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill (CCI5*) is to be held at the newly constructed Special Event Zone adjacent to the Fairgrounds. The prestigious CCI5* designation is the pinnacle of the sport of eventing and will be only the second such event in the U.S. and seventh worldwide with this elite classification.

Children under 12 are admitted free of charge, as are 4-H (with ID), Pony Club members (with pin), and military members and their dependents (with ID).

Juniors (12-17) and Seniors 65 years and older - just $5 per person on Friday and $15 per person Saturday and Sunday.
