Rebecca Hart (Unioville, PA) and Jessica Ransehousen's Lord Ludger scored 68.286% in the Grade II Individual Test. See her thoughts here;
Comparing the 2012 London Paralympic Games to the 2008 Paralympic Games in Hong Kong:
“There was definitely more atmosphere here. It’s nice to have the stands filled. It’s nice to have that support for Para-Equestrian which is always fabulous. It was slightly more intense in there for the horses but it was still good.”
On Lord Ludger’s experience:
This was his first international on this scale. This is his first large international like this.
On competing in Europe:
“It’s fabulous to get to see what the other countries are doing and the level of competition. To have watched it grown from when I started in 1998 to now is truly amazing. It just gives you something to aspire and reach to.”
On her Freestyle:
“I love riding my freestyle, I’m really looking forward to it.”
On the team atmosphere:
“Just to have the team support, it wasn’t an individual effort to have the sponsors and core group that has gotten us to this point. It takes a village. I’m happy to share it with them.”
On her Individual Test:
I has happy enough with it. It was not what I hoping for but it’s good to get him out here and get the experience. Obviously we were hoping for a little bit more but it was ok. We’re going to rally and try and come back in the Freestyle.
On the beginning of her ride:
“I lost his focus a bit when we were doing our tour and I was able to get him back and refocus on me. I was happy that I was able to take him back from the brink.”
Further commenting on her test:
“I needed a little more in the walk which was the comment the other day which we tried to remedy but we just weren’t able to get there, so that was a little disappointing. But were just going to try again and work on it tomorrow and go for it in the Freestyle.”
