Ferguson wins USEF Pony Jumper National Championship; Zone 5 wins Team Championship

Kevin Ferguson, 13, of Parkland, FL, won the 2004 USEF Pony Jumper National Championship individual competition aboard Krome. The championships were held August 6 in Lexington, VA, at the Virginia Horse Center. Ferguson was awarded the Swann Creek Perpetual Trophy and the Gold Medal. The USEF Pony Jumper National Championship has been designated as a USA Junior Olympic – Equestrian event.

The Silver Medal was awarded to: Hot Fudge ridden and owned by Stephanie Fialco.

The Bronze Medal was awarded to Just Have Fun ridden and owned by Jennifer Waxman. Waxman also received the Short Stop Perpetual Trophy, donated by Bill Moroney, and the Pony Jumper Style Award.

Zone 5 was named champion of the 2004 USEF Pony Jumper National Championship team competition. The championship was held August 5, in Lexington, VA, at the Virginia Horse Center. The team competition has also been designated a USA Junior Olympic – Equestrian event. The Gold Medal team of Zone 5 consisted of Super Sonic, ridden and owned by Lina Kavalunias, Country Girl, ridden and owned by Taylor McMurty, Just Have Fun, ridden and owned by Jennifer Waxman, Liseter Fun ‘N’ Stuff, ridden and owned by Allison Terry. Zone 5 Chef d’ Equipe was Mindy Darst. Zone 5 was awarded the Willow Grove Perpetual Trophy.

The Silver Medal was awarded to Zone 4.
Zone 4 consisted of: Krome, ridden and owned by Kevin Ferguson; Indigo, ridden and owned by Julianna Fischer; Longacre Lavendar, ridden and owned by Caroline Wood; Tishomingo, ridden and owned by Ann Marie Tucker. Zone 4 Chef d’ Equipe was Pat Fischer.

The Bronze Medal was awarded to the United States Pony Club.
The Pony Club team consisted of: Prince Charming, ridden and owned by Alexa Bessette; Exhilaration, ridden and owned by Wilhelmina Horzepa; Indiana Jones, ridden and owned by Kristi Edwards; He Likes It, ridden by Emily Smith and owned by Millstream. The Pony Club Chef d’ Equipe was Richard Lamb.

4th through 10th place:

5th Place (tie)-Zone 2 and Zone 8
7th Place-Zone 1
8th Place-Zone 7
