“We are excited to move the auction to the Horse Park this year,” says Tolley Graves, event coordinator. “The subject matter represented in the auction has grown beyond just Saddlebreds and this year includes hunting, coaching, hackneys, draft and Standardbreds. This venue should make it easier for collectors from all breeds to attend.”
Sixty-six lots of items will be sold, including artwork in all media, antiques, collectibles and rare books. Works by the following artists are being offered: George Ford Morris, Paul Brown, Edwin Bogucki, Cecil Aldin, Edward Penfield, W. S. Vanderbilt Allen, Max F. Klepper, Gladys Brown Edwards, Francis Eustis, Walter Brown, Helen Hayse, Marie DuBarry, Doris Linder, Gwen Reardon Marino, Douwe Blumberg, Sally Jackson, Jeanne Newton, James Walls, Pat Mitchell, Andrea Johns, Kathleen Chism, Denise Peterson, Janet Crawford, Dimaro, Mark Shohayda, Barbara Warner, L. Sutton Collins and Kenna Al-Sayed.
Interested parties may preview the items on Friday, July 15 from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., and again on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. The auction will begin promptly at noon on Saturday July 16 and will end between 1:30 and 2:00 p.m. If you are unable to attend but would like to participate, telephone bids will be accepted with advance arrangements.
