New Resources for the Breeding Community with Launch of Performance Horse Registry E-Newsletter and New Design of www.phr.com

Lexington, KY--The first edition of the Performance Horse Registry (PHR) e-newsletter, American Breeder News, was sent on Friday, July 8. A breeder-savvy publication about sport horse breeding in North America, American Breeder News will continue to be delivered to subscriber's e-mail boxes every month, offering the latest news affecting the breeding industry from the PHR, breed registries across the United States and American breeders themselves.

This launch coincides with the unveiling of the PHR's redesigned website, www.phr.com. In addition to featuring information contained in American Breeder News, the new website offers a regularly updated news section on the homepage.

The new site also offers horse owners and breeders the chance to register their horses with the PHR, a growing registry open to any breed of horse. In addition, owners will be able to find out about DNA typing their horses, apply to the Silver Stirrups Awards program, check their Silver Stirrups standings, list their stallion in the Stallion Directory, join the United States Equestrian Federation and find links to breed registries--all within the easy-to-use drop-down menus on the site.

The Performance Horse Registry (PHR) offers horse owners and breeders the opportunity to obtain identification papers for their horses, record pedigrees and collect performance records--all in one setting. Not only does this provide a place to track success, it also provides an avenue to explore the importance of making breeding decisions. Since the PHR is part of the United States Equestrian Federation, your horses' records will be part of an extensive equine database.

The Silver Stirrup Awards program is exclusive to horses in the registry. Each year national, regional and state awards are presented to equestrian athletes competing in dressage, dressage sport horse, hunters, hunter breeding, jumpers, eventing and driving. In addition, the program recognizes leading sires, owners and breeders.
