2005 Gold Coast Shows Continue Series Awards

by By Langer Equestrian Group | May 4, 2005, 11:18 AM

The Gold Coast series of horse shows, held at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center (LAEC), are three day USEF “B” rated hunter/jumper shows that allow people to stay close to home while enjoying a quality show. There are seven shows in the 2005 series, and the series kicked off with Gold Coast 1, February 18-20.

Because of the large size of the LAEC, the shows run with multiple rings and offer classes for a wide range of abilities and interests. From the United States Equestrian Team medal class to classes for walk/trot riders, there is something for everyone. In addition, a number of hunter sections are held on one day, which is very popular among many exhibitors. In the past few years the jumper sections have grown in popularity, and jumper riders can count on classes held up to Level 6 (4'1").

Popular with area riders, the shows are rated “A” with the Los Angeles Horse Shows Association, and offer a separate “B” day on Sunday. This format has been well supported by trainers and their riders.

Horses and riders earn points at each show of the series toward the series awards. This year champions will receive an embroidered cooler. Points are available following each show on the Langer Equestrian Group website at www.leghorseshows.com. Just click on “Special Awards & Programs” on the left side of the home page for complete information and current standings. Gold Coast 7 (October 20-23) will be a double point show for the series championships, and awards will be presented during the exhibitor’s party.

Prize lists, schedules, directions and other information are on the website at www.leghorseshows.com. In addition, the 2004 Gold Series Champions are listed. For any other information related to the Gold Coast shows, contact Brenda Outwater at (818) 567-7317.
