USEF Competition License Procedure Update and FAQ's #4

by By USEF | May 4, 2005, 10:51 AM

Question: What is the procedure for competitions seeking a license agreement that are in mileage conflict with one or more competitions?

Answer:
Pursuant to GR213.2 there is a new procedure for competitions beginning with the 2006 competition year.
The steps are as follows:
1. USEF will notify the applicant of any mileage conflicts.
2. Within 20 days of the notification, the applicant must notify USEF that he/she intends to request permission from the conflicting competition(s).
3. The licensee(s) with priority will have 20 days after the request is received to submit a written response to USEF advising if the priority licensee wishes to grant or deny permission.
4. Within 20 days of the receipt of the granting or denial of the permission request in the USEF offices, or within 20 days after it was due if a response was not submitted, USEF will determine if granting of permission is in the best interest of the sport.

Please note that permanent permissions previously on file will not be considered and new letters of permission must be submitted. Competitions licensed as a result of being granted permission will be issued a one-year license only.

See GR213.2 for the complete rule.

Question: Do I need to sign and return a copy of the license agreement to the Federation once my competition has been issued a license?

Answer:
YES. Two copies of the license agreement will be sent to each Licensee. One copy of the agreement is for your records, and the other copy must be signed by the Licensee and returned to the Federation within 30 days.
We are also providing you with the following reminders:
1. License applications for 2005 recognized competitions requesting a license for a comparable competition for the 2006 competition year must be received by USEF by May 15, 2005 (exception - Eventing competitions).
2. License applications must include:
a. the street address of the facility where the competition will be held,
b. the appropriate fee, and
c, the Licensee registration.
