Mid-America Horse Show Turns Pink

by By Jessica Fisher | 10/16/2008

The Mid-America Horse Show Association is pleased to announce that the Mid-America Mane Event's Ladies Five-Gaited Stake on Saturday evening, October 25, has been designated a United Professional Horsemen's Association (UPHA) Pink Ribbon Class. The UPHA Pink Ribbon Class was created in 2007 to focus awareness and raise money for breast cancer research via Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the world's largest source of non-profit funds dedicated to curing breast cancer at every stage.

This year's generous corporate sponsor for the "Count on Us Campaign" is Millennium Properties, Inc., of Chicago, IL. During the Ladies Five-Gaited Stake Millennium Properties, Inc., will donate $1 for every person counted in the stands wearing pink, everyone in the class who is wearing pink or whose horse is wearing pink, plus $5 for everyone in center ring wearing pink.

Additional sponsors are encouraged to make donations in celebration of friends and loved ones whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. Sponsors contributing a donation of $50.00 will be acknowledged on the Mane Event's "Pretty in Pink" Sponsors' Page distributed at each performance, individually thanked during the pink ribbon presentation, and provided with preferential box seating on Saturday evening.

All proceeds raised from the event go to the UPHA Foundation, and 100% will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. For information on becoming a Mane Event Pink Ribbon Class Sponsor, please contact Candy Hyman at (847) 224-9495 or [email protected].
