Not a delay in site, as more Olympic horses arrived in Hong Kong on time and in great shape to then be swiftly ferried towards the comfortable Olympic facilities at Sha Tin.
Another 35 horses representing 11 countries set foot on Chinese soil, having departed Amsterdam on three different flights to arrive in Hong Kong on Sunday and Monday.
For many, their reputations preceded them, and their passports confirmed their jet setting status revealing a multitude of destinations and venues. The nations represented were: Austria, Spain, Italy, Japan, Mexico, France, Belarus, Finland, Portugal, Russia, and Sweden.
Thus far, a total of 68 horses out of the 219 expected have flown to Hong Kong from Atlanta (5) and Amsterdam (63). There have been no incidents to report, in fact, everything has run extremely smoothly and all travelling equines have arrived in great form. The French horses for example, landed spot on time Monday morning at 3:10 a.m. in Hong Kong, and were quickly escorted to their stables at Sha Tin to enjoy the confines of their new temporary home.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club and FEI veterinary teams will continue to closely monitor the horses to ensure they remain healthy.
The horses will now undergo a 10-day Post-Arrival Isolation during which training is possible.
