As part of the American Saddlebred Horse Association’s video streaming from the Lexington Junior League Horse Show on Saturday, July 12, they will again offer a live video of the American Saddlebred Museum’s 2008 Art Auction held at The Red Mile’s historic Round Barn.
“A wide and interesting variety of items will come to the auction block this year,” said Tolley Graves, Event Coordinator. “Anyone especially interested in the works of George Ford Morris will not be disappointed, as eight of his original works are being offered. Of special note are the lots featuring The Lemon Drop Kid’s fine harness buggy and a sterling silver ashtray mounted with one of CH Wing Commander’s shoes, items which the Museum itself would like to have!”
Graves added that several lots of rare and historic books will be featured, as will several unique pieces of antique equine jewelry. This year’s catalog also contains a nice mix of contemporary and historic artwork, advertising memorabilia, antique children’s’ items, and folk art as well as some hard-to-find prints. The entire catalog can be viewed at the American Saddlebred Museum’s website at www.asbmuseum.org. Proceeds from the auction benefit the work of the Museum.
For those interested in bidding on an item but who cannot attend the auction in person, telephone bidding is possible provided advance arrangements are made with the Museum. No bids will be taken online.
For additional information on the auction, or to arrange for telephone bidding, contact Tolley Graves at (859) 259-2746.
