Lexington, Ky. – US Equestrian is pleased to announce the 12th annual USEF USEF Horsemastership Training Session which will take place at the Adequan® Global Dressage Festival venue in Wellington, Fla., January 5-7, 2018. The training session is designed to identify and develop the next generation of top U.S. Equestrian Team talent through instruction from experts in a variety of aspects of horsemastership.

Past participants include members of recent U.S. teams, including Lillie Keenan, who helped the U.S. secure a gold medal at CSIO5* Dublin in August and at CSIO5* Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’ in September; Ali Wolff, a member of the silver medal-winning U.S. team at CSIO4* Wellington in March; and Jennifer Gates, Michael Hughes, and Wilton Porter, all members of the U.S. team at CSIO3* Samorin in September.

In 2018, the training session will feature intensive mounted sessions led by internationally acclaimed U.S. athletes, as well as daily instruction on all facets of horsemanship from experts in their respective fields. In the barn, Training Session Manager Colleen Reed will guide the participants as they complete all of their own horse care throughout the Training Session. In the saddle, elite U.S. athletes will work with the participants in sessions focusing on flatwork, gymnastics, and jumping courses, respectively. As in 2017, the program will conclude with a Nations Cup-style session on Sunday, January 7.

US Equestrian thanks the many clinicians and sponsors who make this event possible and Equestrian Sport Productions, which generously hosts the Training Session.
