The Supreme Kahuna Pony Classic will be debuting during Week One of the 2006 Biltmore Estate Summer Classics. Providing not only a fun time with great rewards, but also a perfect way to prepare for the USEF Pony Finals, as the event will follow a similar format.

During Week One of Biltmore, July 12-16, over $14,000 in prize money and awards will be handed out in the Pony Hunter classes. The Pony Model and Under Saddle will be judged using a numeric system. At the end of each day the points and standings will be posted at the horse show office. These points will then move forward to the Classics of each pony division to aid in determining the ultimate winners. Overall scores will add up as follows: points from the Pony Model classes will count as 25%, points from the Pony under Saddle classes another 25%. These two scores will in turn be added to the two Classic rounds, which will count as the remaining 50%, to decide the final total scores.

There will be a Supreme Grand Kahuna Pony awarded in each size of each division: Small, Medium and Large Regular Pony as well as Small, Medium and Large Green Pony. All six champions will receive prizes from the sponsors: a $75 gift certificate from Farm House Tack, a custom Essex Classic shirt - just in time for Championships, and a listing with a photo in a congratulatory ad appearing in the Chronicle of the Horse issue prior to the USEF Pony Finals.

A Most Supreme Grand Kahuna Pony Rider Champion will also be awarded based upon total points gathered from the Small, Medium and Large Regular Grand Supreme Champion divisions. This champion will receive a very special cooler and be featured in a full-page congratulatory ad sponsored by Flashpoint Photography appearing in the Chronicle of the Horse issue prior to the USEF Pony Finals.

Additionally, in the regular pony divisions for small, medium and large, there will be prize money of $1,500. Another $1,000 in prize money will be offered in the Regular Pony Classics, for each size section as well. The Green Pony divisions will be vying for $1,000 in prize money for each section and an extra $500 for the Green Classics.

Even though the Supreme Kahuna Pony Classic will only be during the first week, in Week Two the pony divisions will still be split by sizes in both the regular and green sections and offer prize money of $1,500 in each regular division sizes as well as $500 for each size in the Classics. The same will hold true for the green divisions as well, with $1,000 in the different size sections and $500 for each section of the Classics.

Both weeks of competition are again USEF AA-rated hunters and USEF three-star jumpers. The Biltmore Estate Summer Classics begin on July 12 and will conclude on July 23. For more information on the 2006 Biltmore Estate Summer Classics, please visit www.classiccompany.com or call (843) 768-5503.
