Blue skies and sunshine graced Skillman, New Jersey for the $30,000 Holger Hetzel Sport Horse Sales Grand Prix and Family Day. FEI 4* course designer, Werner Deeg built a great course which produced 9 clear rounds. The jump off was a real crowd pleaser with some tight turns and a few long gallops. There was a long gallop across the ring to the last fence, a tall vertical, that got the crowd to their feet.

Laura Chapot and Umberto put pressure on the rest of the field leading off with a very fast and clean jump off. The others gave chase, but it wasn't until Kevin Babbington and Cord 11 had their turn that the lead would change hands. Kevin and Cord 11 made up the time with perfectly executed tight, smooth turns and a great gallop to the last fence. Cord had a light rub at the last fence, but the luck of the Irish was on his side and they took home the blue ribbon! Laura Chapot and Umberto were second, Francesca Bolfo and Celly Negra were third and Chris Kappler and Cecotto's AS took home the fourth place ribbon.
