Lexington, KY- The 46 entries in the US National Pony Jumper Championships began their quests toward National Titles Thursday evening in the Kentucky Horse Park’s Alltech Arena. Held August 7-9 as part of the US Pony Finals, these annual championships host the best pony jumper competitors from across the United States.

Thursday’s first Individual Phase was the first of four rounds to be jumped over Richard Jeffrey-designed courses. Held as a clear round class, the opening round of competition saw 10 of the entries post fault-free efforts. Two rounds will be jumped tomorrow evening in the Alltech Arena to determine the Team Championship. Additionally the faults posted over both rounds will count towards individual classification.

The Individual Champion for 2014 will be crowned following the conclusion of Saturday’s Jumper Individual Final.
