FAQ:

1. Why am I being notified of usef.org’s switch to a unique email login system?

The United States Equestrian Federation is reaching out to current and recent members who utilize our website and may be impacted by the change to move to a unique email login system. Your email address is associated with more than one account.

2. What are the benefits of moving to a unique email login system?

Moving to a unique email login system will enable USEF to better verify contact information, streamline our online processes, reduce communication confusion, and improve our Safe Sport compliance initiative. Additionally, email addresses have become the standard for online account access and security.

3. Two or more of my accounts share an email address, will I lose any data?

No, you will not lose any data. All accounts will retain their data. The only update will be to the email address associated with each account.

4. Where can I see the email address associated with my account?

On your My USEF Member Dashboard, click the “preferences” tile. From the Preferences Dashboard, click the “contact information” tile to view the email address associated with that account.

5. My email is only used on one account; do I need to do anything?

No, you are all set. When we make the switch, you will be asked to use your email address to login instead of your username. The rest of the login process will remain the same.

6. What happens if my email address is assigned to more than one account on May 7?

On May 7 you will be required to verify your email address and associate it with a unique account. Accounts that shared the same email address will be required to supply a new unique email. The system will notify you if the email you entered is already associated with another account.

7. When will we be required to use our email address?

The switch from username-login to email-login will occur in May 2019. A reminder email and launch date will be sent to accounts that are not yet associated with a unique email.

8. Will I still have a member number?

Yes. Your member number will remain the same.

9. I am a parent and manage my children’s accounts; can I associate my email with their accounts?

Yes – we will be adding the ability for users to set a secondary email on their accounts, but every user account will need a unique email address assigned to it.

10. I never log into the USEF website, do I need to do anything?

We encourage all members to login and verify their email and contact information. However, there is no requirement to do so before needing to use services on the USEF website.

11. I verified an email address on the wrong account, what do I do?

You can always update your email address through the Member Preferences on the My USEF Member Dashboard. This service will ensure that your new email address is unique. https://members.usef.org/preferences/update-email

12. Two or more of my accounts share an email address, do I have to assign a different email to all of them?

A unique email address will be required for each individual user account, though licensee accounts and farm memberships will not require a unique email address. One of your accounts may retain the original email on record, while all additional accounts must be assigned a unique email.
