2026 Championship Location - The Maryland International and Horse Trials:
- June 26-28, 2026 in Adamstown, Maryland.

2026 Athlete Age Requirements:
FEI age is defined as the age the Athlete will turn during the calendar year of the competition. The 2026 division and age ranges are:
- Athletes wishing to compete in the USEF Eventing Young Rider Championships CCIU253*-S must have been born on or between January 1, 2001, and December 31, 2010 (FEI ages 16-25).
- Athletes wishing to compete in the USEF Eventing Young Rider Championships CCIYJ2*-S must have been born on or between January 1, 2005, and December 31, 2012 (FEI ages 14-21).
- Athletes wishing to compete in the USEF Eventing Young Rider Championships CCIJ1* must have been born on or between January 1, 2008, and December 31, 2012 (FEI ages 14-18).
2026 Area Declarations:
Athletes interested in participating in the Championships MUST complete a USEF Area Declaration. The USEF Area Declaration is submitted via your USEF Athlete Dashboard.
- Area Declaration Deadline: May 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET
2026 Selection Procedures:
- Pending USEF Board approval.
2026 Qualifying Period and Minimum Eligibility Requirements (MERS):
The Qualifying Period for the 2026 Championships is January 1, 2025 - June 16, 2026. Athlete/Horse combinations must obtain a Certificate of Capability by completing the following during the Qualifying Period:
- CCIU253*-S: Athlete/Horse combinations must have earned a Certificate of Capability by achieving an MER at one CCI3* level or higher FEI competition.
- CCIYJ2*-S: Athlete/Horse combinations must have earned a Certificate of Capability within the Qualifying Period by achieving an MER at one CCI2* level or higher FEI competition.
- CCIJ1*-Intro: Athlete/Horse combinations do not have an additional Certificate of Capability requirement.
2026 Important Dates:
- Area Declarations Open: January 1, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. ET
- Area Declarations Closed: May 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET
- Loch Moy Entries Open: TBA
- Championship Nominated Entries Due to USEF: June 9, 2026
- Loch Moy Entries Close: June 9, 2026
- Championship Definite Entries Due to USEF: June 16, 2026
- Declarations of Starters: June 22, 2026

Don't forget to submit your FEI Entry through your USEF Athlete Dashboard as well as your entry directly to the competition. When entering the competition, make sure to designate that you plan to participate in YRC and which Area you are with.

FEI age is defined as the age the Athlete will turn during the calendar year of the competition. The 2027 division and age ranges are:
- Athletes wishing to compete in the USEF Eventing Young Rider Championships CCIU253*-S must have been born on or between January 1, 2002, and December 31, 2011 (FEI ages 16-25).
- Athletes wishing to compete in the USEF Eventing Young Rider Championships CCIYJ2*-S must have been born on or between January 1, 2006, and December 31, 2013 (FEI ages 14-21).
- Athletes wishing to compete in the USEF Eventing Young Rider Championships CCIJ1* must have been born on or between January 1, 2009, and December 31, 2013 (FEI ages 14-18).
2027 Qualifying Period and Minimum Eligibility Requirements (MERS):
The Qualifying Period for the 2027 Championships is January 1, 2026 - June 15, 2027.

- Area Declarations Open: January 1, 2027 at 9:00 a.m. ET
- Area Declarations Closed: May 15, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. ET
- Loch Moy Entries Open: TBA
