Betsy was raised in Colorado and grew up involved in the American Morgan Horse Association's Morgan youth program, serving as the Youth President and a Regional Vice President. She also won the AMHA's Youth of the Year title and served as an ambassador to England to promote the Morgan breed. She holds a B.S. in Equine Science from Colorado State University and has since worked for the American Morgan Horse Association, The Morgan Horse Magazine, and The International Morgan Connection. Betsy is married to trainer Robb Wallen, and together, they own Wallen West Farms and Riding Academy in Temecula, Calif., where she manages the lesson and youth programs. She currently serves on the Grand National Morgan Horse Show Committee and the USEF Morgan Horse Committee as well.
