MIRTA DE LA CRUZ

Mirta hails from the Dominican Republic and has been involved with the Paso Fino breed since she started competing in Paso Equitation at age four. She is a certified judge and member of the Paso Fino Horse Association and the USEF, and holds the title of International Paso Judge, issued by the Confepaso International Foundation. During her career, she has judged in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Curazao, Aruba, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic, with shows including the Mundial Confepaso 2021, Ocala Cup 2022, Nacional de Chalaneria 2022, Mundial de Jinetes y Amazonas 2022, Feria Himno y Bandera 2022, Miami Summer 2023, Mundial Confepaso 2023, Nacional Adopaso 2023, Gran Nacional Curazao 2023, Grand Nationals Championship PFHA 2024, and Gran Nacional Los Abiertos 2024. Mirta was also a member of the National Equestrian Paso Team from 1998 to 2006, Team Captain of the Dominican Equestrian Team at the 2006 Youth Mundial, placed first and second in the 2004 and 2006 Youth Mundials, respectively, and was National Champion from 2001 to 2011. She is a member of the PFHA Judges and Stewards Committee, Secretary of the Confepaso International Judges Committee, and is also a National Judge of Paso Higüeyano horses. Mirta breeds and still competes her horses at her co-owned ranch "Hacienda Ramia" in the D.R., and when she is not with her horses, she works professionally as an attorney and runs her goat cheese production company.
