Elisabeth Goth has dedicated the greater part of her life to the pursuit of excellence in the horse show ring and to the various entities and aspects that surround the horse community. Goth competes as an amateur and has won at the highest level of her sport. She is only one of two women who have won three World’s Grand Championship titles, the other being her mentor, amateur rider Michele Macfarlane. No other professional woman athlete in her industry has won more than two World’s Grand Championships. In addition, Goth won all of her World Grand Championship titles by unanimous decisions. Goth and her family owned a publicly-traded media company from 1903-2007. Most recently she has had partnership interests in Stillking Films S.R.O., and Fan Outfitters. Goth is also the owner of Elisabeth Goth LLC, a highly-regarded American Saddlebred sales and breeding operation in Kentucky.
A former USEF Board member from 1999-2003, Goth has also served on the following USEF committees: Executive, American Saddlebred, Owner’s, Safety, and Morgan. She is a Life Member of the USEF, AMHA, ASHA, and the AHHS. Goth is currently a Trustee for the American Saddlebred Museum, and the History and Children’s Wings are named in her honor. She is a member of the President’s Circle at William Woods University, and is a member of the Fellows Society at the University of Kentucky. Goth has been honored with several industry awards, including the USEF Equestrian of the Year, the UPHA Sallie B. Wheeler Award, the UPHA Associate Award, the ASHA Lurline Roth Award, the ASHA Breeder’s Award, and the AHHS Preservationist Award. Most recently she was named Horse World Magazine’s Amateur of the Year in 2011 and 2013.
