I am an equine veterinarian who practiced in the United Arab Emirates for over twenty years, where I developed treatment protocols for the rapidly emerging sport of endurance. I am passionate about protecting horse welfare and travel extensively as an examiner for the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) Limb Sensitivity Testing program for show jumping and endurance horses.

Since 2021 I have worked seasonally as an examining veterinarian for the New York State Racing Association at Saratoga, and prior to moving to Dubai, worked for the Kentucky State Racing Commission in the same capacity. I have served on the examining and emergency response teams for many international races: the Dubai World Cup, the Breeder’s Cup, and the Kentucky Derby. I have also served as treating veterinary president at many Endurance World Championships and multiple World Equestrian Games.

I have a number of roles within the FEI: I am a Level 4 endurance veterinarian, a limb sensitivity testing veterinarian, course director, and an Independent governance advisor. I was elected to the FEI Veterinary Committee for the 2018-2021 term.

Additionally, I have served as an expert witness in the Court of Arbitration for Sport, on the Licensed Officials Committee for the United States Equestrian Federation, and on the Veterinary Advisory Committee for the Horse Racing Safety and Integrity Authority (HISA). I currently serve on the Human and Equine Safety and Welfare Committee for USEF.
