Philip Richter grew up around horses and has been actively competing on the “A” show circuit his entire life. His extended family has a long history of involvement in the equestrian world, including Thoroughbred racing, fox hunting, show jumping, and competitive four-in-hand driving. Philip’s family has owned and/or trained horses that ultimately qualified for the Olympic Games and competed in the FEI Volvo World Cup, the Kentucky Derby, and the Pan American Games. Philip began riding in the short stirrup at age six and he later competed in the pony hunter divisions, equitation, junior hunters, and junior/amateur jumpers. Over the years Philip has been high amateur jumper champion at the Devon Horse Show, the Winter Equestrian Festival, the Hampton Classic and the Lake Placid Horse Show. He currently competes in the High Amateur Owner jumper divisions.
Philip is Chairman of the Lake Placid Horse Show and is a member of both the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Hampton Classic Horse Show. Philip is an officer of the United States Equestrian Team Foundation and serves as treasurer. Philip is also a member of the Coaching Club and serves on the Audit Committee. He is the President of Hollow Brook Wealth Management LLC, a New York based private wealth management firm that he co-founded in 2002. Philip serves on the board of the Revs Institute based in Naples Florida and the Malcolm Pray Foundation in Greenwich Connecticut. Philip also periodically writes articles for Sports Car Market, a leading monthly publication that caters to the collector car marketplace. Philip is a graduate of Boston College and holds an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business.
