LINDA DENNISTON

Linda received a Master's degree in Art Education from Indiana University in 1969. She then taught high school art classes until retiring in 2001. She bought her first horse in 1970 and has been involved with the equine industry since. She has been breeding and training Dressage horses for 35 years, competing in Open Dressage for 30 years, and teaching riding for 25 years. She also operates an equestrian fitness center and, as a certified personal fitness trainer, places emphasis on the balance between the horse and rider. She has organized numerous clinics and seminars and, for the past five years, been managing both USEF/USDF Dressage shows and USEF Andalusian Championship shows. Linda has studied with Dominque Barbier, Helene Clifford, Sally Swift, and Felicitas von Neumann-Cosel. Other notable contributions include serving as: Secretary of the Maryland Quarter Horse Association (MQHA) for five years; Chair of the MQHA's Education Committee for three years; Show Secretary of the Howard County Fair’s Quarter Horse Show for 10 years; member of the Potomac Valley Dressage Association’s (PVDA) Board of Directors for two years, Chair of the PVDA’s Schooling Show Committee and Chapters Committee; Chairperson of two PVDA Chapters; manager of a PVDA schooling show for 15 years; manager of the Eastern Region Andulusian Horse Club’s (ERAHC) Dressage show for four years; and Secretary of the ERAHC for one year.
