JOAN TODD

Joan began her riding career at a young age with Jane Ginther at Hartmeyer Stables in Muncie, Ind. She learned to ride hunters and show Morgans, but after riding a Saddlebred as a teenager, she was hooked. She juggled her passion for horses with raising a family and a career that started in journalism and evolved into corporate affairs and university communications, before owning her own farm and breeding business. Since then, she has successfully shown Saddlebreds in multiple divisions including saddle seat, equitation, hunt seat, western, and parade, with several of those horses earning their permanent Champion status under her ownership. For more than 25 years, Joan has served the American Saddlebred and Breeders Association on various committees, as well as on its Board and Executive Committee. Now retired, she is delighted to have more time to devote to her family and beloved horses.
