Dave grew up at Walnut Hill Farm in Pittsford, N.Y. His parents, Bill and Sue Remley, were founders of the once popular Walnut Hill Farm Driving Competition, which was the site of one of the largest Pleasure Driving shows in the U.S. for over 47 years. He has an extensive background among the Carriage Driving sports and has competed with horses and ponies for over 50 years in both the U.S. and Canada. Having been actively judging for over 35 years, he holds registered (R) status with both the American Driving Society (ADS) and US Equestrian in the Pleasure Driving and Coaching disciplines and is also a learner judge for Driven Dressage with the ADS. Additionally, he is a Level 3* Association International d’Attelage de Tradition (AIAT) U.S. licensed judge through the Carriage Association of America. Dave had the privilege of studying and working under Dr. Leslie Kozsely for several years, putting together pairs, tandems, four-in-hands, and coaching turnouts of many different horse and pony breeds. He served as Head Coachman for Mr. and Mrs. Henry DuPont of Greenville, Del., working with their Morgans, for Mr. and Mrs. Howard Fafard of Framingham, Mass., working with their Lipizzans, and trained with Philip and Jennifer DuBois of Peterborough, N.H., working with their Morgans. As a competitor, Dave has been fortunate to earn many accolades while competing at various Pleasure Driving venues, including the Canadian Carriage Driving Classic, Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, Walnut Hill Farm Driving Competition, East Aurora Driving Competition, and the Lorenzo Driving Competition. He has also successfully competed at several Combined Driving events, including Gladstone, New Jersey, and the Myopia Driving Event in Massachusetts. Dave and his wife, Cindy, enjoy riding and driving their Morgan and Gelderlander horses as much as they can at their farm in Honeoye Falls, N.Y.
