HorseSensing's mission is to teach humans how to interact intuitively with horses, care for horses, and better care for themselves and those around them.

Based out of Shelbyville, Ky., Horsesensing's focus is multi-faceted, to include providing equine assisted therapy to the following indviduals:

• veterans transitioning back to civilian life
• people in recovery from addictions

• general public (all ages and need groups in Shelby County, Ky. and beyond)

Horsesensing fills a gap in services for military veterans and folks in recovery from addictions. The do this by teaching skills that last a lifetime, placing participants in an actual job, and staying in touch with participants to help keep them on track.

The welfare of the horse is top of mind, as they teach participants how to be safe, for themselves and for the horses they are working with.  They do this by taking into consideration, on a psychological level, where our participants come from, what helps them, and what may set them back.
