Bio:

Robin Brueckmann acquired reflex sympathetic dystrophy in her right leg as a result of a fall on ice, and subsequently developed paralysis. This has affected her riding in that she must ride without stirrups. She has been a lifelong rider, concentrating on dressage since 1979. She has earned her United States Dressage Federation Bronze, Silver and Gold rider medals, celebrating achievement at every level of dressage. Robin has trained her own horses all along her path, including two Grand Prix horses, Bordeaux and Richmond, upon whom she competed at two World Championships (2003 and 2007) and the Belgian Open in 2006. Robin also earned two Gold medals and one Bronze medal at the 1999 World Championships in Denmark aboard Flower Power.

She competed in the Sydney Paralympic Games in 2000 with a sixth place team finish. Robin was an alternate for the 2004 Athens Paralympic Games.

Robin’s mount for the 2008 Paralympic Games is Radetzky, a 2001 Trakehner gelding that she has trained for two years. Radetzky was the 2007 USEF National Horse of the Year at Training Level. She is very excited to debut him in international competition for these Games.
