Bio:

The Davidson name is legendary in the eventing world and Buck has focused on following in his father Bruce's footsteps, an Olympic medalist and veteran. Though much of his younger years he was primarily interested in baseball, a sports related injury changed his focus. Always a rider, Buck began his career as a fox hunter and timber racer.

Buck has an impressive history as a young rider. He has won the Markham Trophy as the highest placing Young Rider in a USET Championship three times, and was the 1996 Young Rider of the Year. In 1997, he won individual Bronze and team Silver Medals at the North American Young Riders’ Championships.

In his four star debut in 1998, he placed sixth at the Rolex Kentucky aboard Trans Am A Flirt. The two following years with Pajama Game, the Morgan-cross that many felt would never be able to compete on an international level, he placed tenth and then fourth in the Rolex Kentucky. Also in 1999, he and Pajama Game were part of the U.S. team in the Pan American games that finished seventh.

Buck finished ninth at the Cosequin/USET 2000 Olympic Games Eventing Mandatory Short List Outing at Foxhall Farm and fifteenth at 2000 Rolex Kentucky CCI****. His second place finish at the Bromont Three-Day Event CCI**, third at the 1999 Rolex Kentucky CCI***, seventh at the 1999 Fair Hill International CCI***, and seventh at the 1999 Pan American Games created an impressive resume for a young but not untested competitor.

In 2003, Davidson placed third in the USET Three Star Spring Championship and fourth overall in the Foxhall Cup CCI***. Buck also had a successful year in 2004, placing third at the Rocking Horse Winter II Advanced Horse Trials on Private Treaty and earned a fourth as well as a fifth at the Popular Place Farm March Horse Trials with Idalgo and Private Treaty respectively. Also in 2004, Buck and his mount Class Touch were short listed to the World Equestrian Games.

At the Rolex Kentucky 2005, Buck brought two mounts, after very smooth rides on both horses Buck brought home a thirteenth on Private Treaty and an eleventh on Let It Rain. At that years Jersey Fresh CCI*** Buck and Hyperlite turned in a beautiful performance to finish second.

In 2006, Buck was ranked number three in the United States and number six in the world. With wins at the Bromont CCI**, Rocking Horse Winter Horse Trial, Plantation Fields Horse Trials, Surefure Horse Trials, Waredaca Farm Horse Trails, and numerous top ten finishes Buck proved his was a worthy world class rider.
